Alright, So I went and Facebook stalked my TA and stole her photos of things that have happened, so now you can see where I was, even if I wasn't taking pictures (which I should be able to do soon).
So this is in the Puerta del Sol, that very important plaza in Spain at the spot where all the (important) roads in Spain start. A fitting beginning to a journey.
Look! I exist, and there are other people too!
This is the square where they had the market and then the Inquisition.
And these are the most expensive flats in Madrid that look out over that square! Oh, pretty flats I'll never live in!
A Statue. Of a Person. I'm really only adding this as an example. They have a LOT of these in Spain.
This is the plaza with the old door, the statue, the tower, and the mayor's old house.
And this is the new market.
And this...
is INSIDE the new market.
This is the view off this massive bridge in Madrid.
This
Is what I mean when I say massive.
Ah, yes, the unimpressive new cathedral.
The Royal Palace
Do you see what I meant about the Buckingham palace vibe?
In my natural habitat.
In a slightly less natural (but more aesthetically pleasing)habitat
These are the awesome gardens of the Royal Palace.
Which I think are pretty awesome.
The Opera House. I wanna go.
Remember that word?
Well guess what that is?
They are both as healthy and as delicious as they look.
And that's what happens next, folks.
The faces of people who just had churros and chocolate. (see above)
By the way, I was at that table, but kind of hiding in the corner.
Obligatory statue of Don Quijote.
Obligatory group photo with Don Quijote.
The modern art museum. Lotsa Picasso.
And then we went to Segovia for a day trip:
Remember the acquaduct I was freaking out about?
Well here I am in front of it!
No cement.
No mortar.
And it was safe to take this picture.
The steps to the top
Our view on the climb.
Almost there!
Whew!
But of course.
And what's up ahead?
I swear, that is ART.
Obligatory group photo looking at the wrong camera.
In case you're wondering, it's art inside too.
And then on lunch break I wandered streets that looked like this
or this
past buildings that looked like this.
And we saw this Church built by the Knight's Templar.
Took a minute to enjoy this view
Look at the wrong camera,
Before going across this (actual, real life moat)
into this.
I felt a weird temptation to burst into song and call to me all the small forest creatures.
That Lady in white, Isabel, being awesome without her husband anywhere in sight.
It wouldn't be a castle without a throne room.
And when you're the queen, you get views like this.
Next stop, up there.
And that's what the cathedral looks like from the top of a castle.
And that's what I look like from the top of a castle.
I think that castle life suits me. I should get one.
Yup, I could get used to this.
But alas, we returned down to the base of the castle,
And said good bye to Segovia.
Phew! For a minute I thought the Jittery Joe's sunglasses didn't make the trip. You look great and to be livin' the dream! Carry on. Monica
